Tenacious Pansies
With the exception of a few really hot days in May, we have had a relatively mild summer. Proof of that is these pansies that are still blooming like it is the middle of spring instead of the middle of summer! Today it is around 73 degrees outside and although the sun is shining right now, we still have a thick, gloomy marine layer in the mornings which is typically called 'June Gloom'.
I really like pansies - anybody dare call them granny plnats and I will take offense. They are easy to grow and comes in many beautiful coulours like those you have. Glad to hear you had a mild summer - I hope you get some rain to fill up the reserves in CA.
ReplyDeleteCount me as one who loves pansies too. I plant them in the fall and mourn when I have to pull them out in early Spring for my summer planting. Your picture is happy and making me look forward to fall.
ReplyDeletePansies are one of the prettiest flowers...it's something about their 'faces' that speak to me...

They are lovely, and especially useful in the winter months, when I put them in bowls, baskets and pots in view of the cottage windows. They never fail to give me a lift as they smile back at me.
ReplyDeleteI particularlily like that colour way
