Anisodontea
This lovely anisodontea, commonly known as cape mallow, is waiting patiently to be planted in the back yard. I believe this is 'Elegant Lady' which means she will get quite tall in the ground. This is a great plant for Southern California gardens because she is very drought tolerant and the butterflies love her.
That is a very pretty plant, I've never seen that one before! How lucky to have the gardens where you do. Both of those areas are beautiful. I remember going to the Mission in San Juan Capistrano when I was a kid.
ReplyDeleteI don't normally go for the mallow family as they're a bit too baby pink for me. But that wine coloured bloom is just gorgeous.
