Painted Japanese Fern

When I first planted this Painted Japanese Fern 'Pictum' there was no ground cover around it and it just kind of blended in with the soil. Now that the Australian violets and volunteer wild strawberries have embraced it, the colors really stand out and attract the eye.

  1. It is beautiful vignette! I just planted this fern last fall and see it has popped up quite nicely! it's has great coloring and adds a bit of drama to a darker corner of the garden. gail

  5. I love that fern! I have seen it here and there, but never considered buying it because it didn't looks that impressive. Your pictures does it justice!

  6. That setting is really pretty! The Japanese painted fern really does stand out! I bought a ghost fern a while back and have been watching it grow. It is looking good! I would like to get a painted fern too! Yours sure is beautiful!

  8. Sheila I have so many of these wonderful ferns I have lost count of them .. once bitten ? LOL
    This is a beautiful picture with the green foliage of the other plants to highlight the fern .. well done girl !!
