Purple Cloud
Agapanthus are quite common summer flowers in our area. They are drought tolerant and pest and disease free. The only downfall to them that I am aware of is that voles LOVE to eat their fleshy roots, but they eat almost everything else too. I have dozens of the light blue ones, white ones, large ones and miniature ones. I even have some with variegated leaves. But the ones that really seduce me are the dark purple ones like this 'Purple Cloud'. The color is so rich!
Wow, what a beauty! Thanks for making me aware of the lovely dark colored one.

I haven't seen the dark purple before. It's gorgeous! Agapanthus is a plant I haven't tried, but would like to. Not sure how it would do in our NY summers, especially one as cool as the current one. I wonder how well it would winter over inside the house in a pot.
ReplyDeleteYour gardens are very beautiful. I've enjoyed having a wander through them :)
That really is a beauty. :)
ReplyDeleteBeautiful! Any flower that is disease and pest resistance is a winner in my book. Love the color! -Jackie
ReplyDeleteHave several of them, but not this color. This one is beautiful!
ReplyDeleteI agree it is a lovely flower. The dark purple is very beautiful. Lucky for us we don't have voles in our area. I bet they smell lovely too!
ReplyDeleteSheila, these are just gorgeous. I want some now, but they're not hardy here...have to be dug and stored like dahlias. So I'll drool over yours instead.
