I do love things that you stick in the ground, cover with dirt and then forget about only to be surprised by their appearance months later. And this was no disappointment!
This is about life in my gardens. One is an acre on a hillside in Laguna Beach, California and the other is an acre in San Juan Capistrano, California.

A Dahlia - Finally!
I do love things that you stick in the ground, cover with dirt and then forget about only to be surprised by their appearance months later. And this was no disappointment!
I've the same trouble with daylilies. Forgot to order them, found some sale, and forgot to plant them. I understand your joy of actually getting your dahlias established. But really, are we that far into summer...dahlia season? Where did the time go?!
ReplyDeleteOh Dahlia joy!!! Good for you!!
ReplyDeleteDahlia's are one of my favorites. They are not hardy here and I always forget to lift them in the fall. For this year, I have to get my dahlias at the local flower market.
ReplyDeleteI'm growing my first dahlia this year too, and it just started blooming. What a thrill!
