The Garlic Harvest

We harvested some garlic from the garden that was ready to be pulled up and be cured. I plant it in the fall around where the tomato plants are going because there is a rumor that it discourages hornworms. I don't know if this is true, but I never am bothered with the nasty buggers, so I'll continue the practice. Now if only I could find a deterrent for all the furry mammals that are eating the tomatoes before they even ripen!

  1. I lost my tomato plants to blight. I guess that's what it is. Of course, I only had about 20 or so plants. Farmer lost his, too, and he's got 200 or so. I've really been too busy to manage the veggies lately though.

  2. Ooh, I'll have to try the garlic this fall. I have trouble with hornworms every year. I hate the little buggers!

  4. I haven't tried growing garlic so far.., and looking at your harvest, I feel encouraged to try soon. Probably in pots.
