A Donated Container

Last month I was asked to create a container for a charity auction to benefit the Great Park Conservancy. I put together this romantic combination in a lightweight container. It contains a 'Ballerina' rose, 'Black Knight' heliotrope, nemesia, bacopa and 'Blackie' sweet potato vine. Over the summer it will grow and overflow the container nicely as well as be fragrant. I'm not sure what the final amount was it went for, but it was a couple hundred dollars when I last checked during the auction. I hope whoever got it enjoys it!

What a lovely container! Bacopa is one of my favorite plants and I have it growing by a Chicago Peace rose. Have you ever seen Mindy's blog? http://mindyluvs2garden.blogspot.com/2009/03/take-this-chair-and-stuff-it.html She did a charity project was beautiful. Thank you for sharing all your great projects with us!

You did a great job Sheila. I love it. That has to make you feel good that it sold for so much.

Could you ship one just like it to me? That is beautiful! Yeah for auctions to raise money.

That IS very romantic. I love that you picked plants that have a scent too! They're much more fun on the patio that way.

A beautiful combination, and it's just going to get even lovelier as the summer goes on. Heliotrope is one of my favorites for containers--just love the purple flowers and the velvety texture of the leaves.
