Late Season Roses

'Royal Sunset'

'Betty White'

I will admit I am starting to get a bit overwhelmed with the holiday season. We have a large family and a large extended family and this is the time of year when we all get together at our home. I have been busy planning and making arrangements and helping with travel plans for everyone and I rarely get out into the garden these days. When I do, the flowers that are in bloom bring me such pleasure that all the work that goes into the gardens the rest of the year is worth it, even if I am the only one soothed by their abundant beauty these busy days.

Hello Sheila,

I think it exactly times like these when life gets hectic, when we can enjoy the fruits (flowers) of our labor out in the garden getting re-energized.

Thank goodness for gardens. Especially if you live in a temperate climate, it's always available to you. I just love your rose photos. I can almost smell them.

Just to let you know that your post has been reposted on another site. I would suggest you add your name to your images to prove they are yours. Here is the link for you to check out http://www.furniturecustommade.com/stories/late-season-roses
This is happening to me and to several other bloggers.

I did not know there was a rose named "Betty White". Is this named after the actress? I love her!

Phillip, yes, this rose is named after actress Betty White. It is a hybrid tea and I have some issues with it turning brown around the edges of the soft pink petals, but that is common in our mild climate for some roses with lots of petals. Otherwise a beautiful soft pink rose named after a beautiful actress!

Crafty Gardener, thanks for the heads up. If it becomes more of a problem I'll look into adding my name to my images.
