Even More Confusing
In yesterday's post I wrote about my confusion over the simple pink rose that I am quite fond of and not quite sure of which rose it is, 'Betty Prior' or 'Dainty Bess'. To make things worse, here is another rose that I have growing, actually there are three of them, in another spot. The variety of weather we have been having doesn't help the situation because the rose blossoms can vary in character based on the climate. Many of my white roses are taking on a distinct pink hue and my pale pink 'Sally Holmes' have dark pink splotches prompting many visitors to ask me what rose it is when it is such a common one.
To add to the confusion and to reiterate that I have no sense of discipline and focus when I am at a nursery, this 'Bubblicious' rose came home with me last week and hasn't even been planted yet! I am going to get my label maker out right now!

I have several roses that I have no idea their names. It is frustrating, especially when asked. And to top that, my labels I put out in the garden have all faded, so now I'm really confused! lol
If you find a fun way to make signs for your roses let me know, I have some I need to do something for. I hate forgetting what they are and eventually the tags fall off so I am thinking a nice metal sign on a post in the ground would be a great way to always know their names...or maybe wood and paint...
Dear Sheila, A label maker sounds like a good idea. I used a marker last year and all the writing disappeared during the winter, so I am very confused about what I planted. One consolation, the roses look lovely even without a name. P. x
I suppose I will always remember the name of a plant when I plant it, then several seasons later I'm struggling to remember! I saw plant names written on smooth river rocks with permanent paint at a local botanical garden. The markers looked great. By the way, I like all your pink roses!
