Maybe Next Year
I did not have much luck with attracting Monarch butterflies to the garden with the native milkweeds I planted last year. However they are adding a pretty autumn combination of colors to the flower beds that they are blooming in this month.
I find this perennial gets better with age, Sheila. And I also learned they don't like being moved..the hard way. Lucky they are blooming now for you...the seed pods will be cool too! Nice photo!

It sure is a pretty plant! Maybe next year the butterflies will come(-:

I didn't know there was such a thing a pretty Milkweed.
I think they are very beautiful. I've tried to grow them twice and both times failed.
