Scentuous

If there was one rose that captured people's attention last week on the tour it was 'Sheila's Perfume'. The tour date came after the first big flush of roses for the season and there wasn't a lot in bloom, which of course narrowed down the choices, but the scent of this rose that grows right to nose height was what everyone noticed.
I must admit the first time I bought it many years ago in my Laguna garden I choose it for the name, but have since come to love it for its easy ways and intoxicating aroma. Even the bright colors have come to grow on me.

That is a gorgeous rose and what makes it great to me is it has a scent. A rose doesn't seem like a rose to me without scent. When one doesn't smell I am disappointed.

Hi Shelia. It is nice to have a rose with your name to it. LOL! I love roses that have strong fragrances. One reason is because the old sniffer is not what it use to be.:-) It is a beautiful rose with the pinks and yellows in it. I may have to check this one out to see if it is hardy to my area.

I agree with you on Sheila's Perfume! My husband bought it because he thought it would match the house color well (and it did). I wasn't crazy about it, but it is healthy, blooms a lot and the fragrance is always there. Mine is about 12' high now :). Great rose.

How nice to have a rose with your name turn out to have such a wonderful scent, as well:-) It is such a pretty shade, too. I am sure your gardens are awesome right now. Would have loved to be on that tour;-)
