Everything in Bloom

I know it isn't true, but it almost seems like every perennial in the gardens are in bloom at this time of year. The days are still warm, but getting shorter and the evenings are starting to cool off. Soon it is the best time of the year for planting new shrubs and perennials in our climate, other than tropicals, so I have been taking inventory, noting what is doing well, what isn't and where I need to fill in gaps. Some of those gaps will be filled with divisions or transplants, but there will certainly be a few trips to the nursery.

There does seem to be a lot in bloom here too, but definitely they are slowing down. It is fun planning for next year now.
What type of geranium is that? It's such a pretty color.

Catherine, that is my favorite hardy geranium that I use all over my garden, Rozanne!

Lovely blooms, Sheila, and I'm a real fan of geraniums. :)

Doesn't it seem odd that in less than a month we'll probably be ripping out annuals and cutting back perennials? Mine are in full bloom, too, and seem to be getting a surge in blossoms with the cooler weather.

Isnt that the most delicious part? Knowing you have a lot of plants but also knowing you can squeeze in a few more from the nursery?
That does look like a very bloom-filled garden to me.
