If I had It To Do Over...

...I would have planted all two dozen of these dutch iris in the same spot instead of polka-dotting them in groups of three throughout the property. It would have made a much bigger statement. This is a common problem I have in putting plants in the ground that I need to correct. One here, two there and so on instead of in one large mass. Next time!

My thought is, in a couple of years you will have large masses in many places at least this is why I do the same thing.

So pretty - and great advice. I tend to try to spread things out, too.

I like to have color everywhere. I second guess myself everytime I put something in the ground. They are beautiful together or alone.

They will multiply like crazy and soon you will have dozens in groups everywhere! I did that with daffodils a couple years ago and this year there were three blooms in each clump!

I do the same thing. At least these will spread and then you'll have several masses of them.

That's an easy mistake to make, and I've done it too. Luckily plants like that are easy to move. :-)

This is a lesson I keep hoping to learn! But my daffs and other bulbs and truth be told, even the perennials are polka dotted everywhere! gail

I do that too Sheila ~ plant in ones or twos ~ we should both learn that lesson I guess!! It's a gorgeous iris tho.

Great advice. I'm even worse - some places I just have ONE!
