This is what the pomegranate bush looks like in Laguna this time of year. It is starting to break dormancy and will fill in flush in a couple weeks. Pomegranates will be ready to eat in the fall. I have tried and tried to prune it into a tree, but it insists on being a shrub!

I had a small pomegranate bush in my previous house. I love the bright red flowers! The fruits are keeping falling off prematurely. I think probably it is still too small. I started one from a seed from store-bought fruit in my new house. Looking forward to having another lovely popegranate bush... Yours looked so beautifully (I checked out one of your old posts)!
I have flowering pomegranate bushes. I think they are the cultivar called Legrelle. They have beautiful orange and white blossoms in spring, no fruits.
I attended a class on backyard fruit, and the very knowledgeable instructor actually advised growing pomegranates as a bush. Much easier to pick, was her opinion.
