Peach Blooms

These beautiful pink blooms belong to a peach tree in the SJC garden. Up close they are so pretty but then look at the tree they are on below.

Talk about a terrible shaped tree! I should have pruned it a couple months ago but I guess I wasn't paying attention. The good news is I can cut some of the branches for indoors and not feel guilty about sacrificing any fruit. This tree was loaded with fruit last year, but something got to it before I did and the tree was striped bare almost over night.

Amazing that such a small tree could have so many blooms! They are beautiful; I'd be tempted to cut some to enjoy indoors as well. Thank you for visiting me; I love seeing all your flowers in sunny--and much warmer--California:)

Well when you prune the branches you bring indoors you will be able to give the tree a nice shape again. Having those pretty blossoms indoors is a nice bonus!

I've never seen a peach tree before. I don't see any leaves. There aren't any, are there?

Blossom, the leaves will appear in another few weeks when the fruit starts to form.

Those are very pretty blooms. It sounds like a garden visitor enjoys peaches as much as you do. How old is the tree?

Northern Shade, I've lived in the house for two years and it was already here then, so I would say it is anywhere from four to six years old.

Pretty colour. Love to have a peach tree in my yard. Unfortunately, we still have about a foot of snow in our garden. But, it's melting!
