This is about life in my gardens. One is an acre on a hillside in Laguna Beach, California and the other is an acre in San Juan Capistrano, California.

Nike on the Rocks
As finicky as clematis can be in Southern California, some are troopers and I must say, this 'Nike' is one of them. It is growing in its original pot that is sunk into a gap in the rock waterfall we have in Laguna. It has been there for about seven or eight years and it withstands all kinds of abuse and still surprises me with beautiful magenta blooms every year.

Think I know this one as Warsaw Nike, but it looks fabulous in the position you have it in, which is probably just about perfect for any Clematis; feet in the shade, head in the sun.
That is really pretty!!! Great name too(-: I have a clematis still in a pot and it does great every year!!
Yes, Zoe, you are right, it is Warsaw Nike! I have just affectionately called her Nike for so long I forgot that wasn't the entire name! Thanks for the clarification.
Very pretty flower to be anticipating annually. I agree that it's especially nice next to those stones.
