This sasanqua camellia that is blooming right now in the Moonlight Garden is another example of a 'fried egg' flower blossom that I am crazy about. I don't think it is their similarity to a popular breakfast food that endears them to me, but the pure, bright colors and simple forms.
This is about life in my gardens. One is an acre on a hillside in Laguna Beach, California and the other is an acre in San Juan Capistrano, California.

Fried Egg Flowers

They do, indeed, look like fried eggs. :) Your Moonlight Garden is going to be spectacular!
I like these with a big boss of stamens. I'm thinking of putting in some red ones.
Very pretty, but do you have a poached egg plant, or Limnanthes douglasii? I think you should add it to your collection!
It is pretty Sheila. I love the idea of a Moonlight Garden.
