This is about life in my gardens. One is an acre on a hillside in Laguna Beach, California and the other is an acre in San Juan Capistrano, California.

It Smells Like Spring
Southern California has a scent all it's own in the spring. It is the smell of orange tree blossoms. They are just starting to open and fill the air with the sweet, sweet fragrance that is so wonderful.
When my parents were alive we always went to Laguna for Easter break. One of the strongest memories is going through the orange orchards with their heavenly smell on the way to the road down Laguna Canyon. I fear the orchards are now all subdivisions, but the memory is alive.

Those of us who don't have oranges will soon smell Mock Orange -- those who don't have P. inodorus, as I do.
